Why Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena is hosting a big clearance sale instead of concerts

Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena, usually known for high-energy concerts and sold-out crowds, is taking on a new role this week, transforming into a large-scale shopping destination as it adapts to a quieter events calendar.

For the first time since recent regional tensions disrupted events, the venue is reopening to the public with a five-day retail festival instead of a concert.

From April 1 to 5, shoppers can visit the Big Clearance Sale by CBBC (Concept Big Brands)—a free-entry event featuring major discounts across fashion, footwear, accessories, and lifestyle products.

Organisers say the move is about more than just shopping. It’s also a way to keep the venue active during uncertain times while giving residents something to look forward to.

While certain shows can be rearranged, others tied to global tours have been cancelled. The priority right now is to stay operational and motivated, and to lead from the front, Mark Jan Kar, General Manager of Coca-Cola Arena, told local media.

Leading brands like Lacoste, Coach, Puma, Gucci, Guess, Tom Ford, Ray-Ban, Versace, and Michael Kors are part of the sale, with bundle deals and price drops expected to draw large crowds.

Vijay Samyani, founder of Concept Brands Group, described the event as a “fresh start” after a challenging period, adding that it’s meant as a gesture of appreciation for customer support.

The sale runs daily from 10am to 10pm, offering visitors a chance to shop premium brands at significantly reduced prices, all under one roof.

In a time when large-scale events have slowed, this shift shows how Dubai venues are adapting creatively, keeping spaces alive while giving people a reason to step out again.
