Lamb Machbous and Baklava: Emirates reveals its Eid festive treats for travellers
Passengers flying with Emirates during Eid Al Adha are in for a delightful festive treat as the airline rolls out special menus, desserts and curated entertainment across selected routes from May 26 to 29.
The Dubai-based carrier says the onboard celebrations are designed to reflect regional traditions and Emirati hospitality during one of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar.
Festive menu
Customers travelling across different cabin classes will be treated to a wide selection of Middle Eastern-inspired dishes.
In First Class, passengers can enjoy:
- Lamb Machbous
- Prawn Morbian
- Lamb adfoon
- Beef foga braised in Emirati spices
Desserts include:
- Pistachio and chocolate nammoura cake
- White chocolate and rahash mousse cake
- Warm walnut baklava cake
Meanwhile, Business Class and Premium Economy travellers can expect festive mains such as lamb chermoula and grilled chicken paired with indulgent Middle Eastern desserts.
In Economy Class, passengers will be served favourites including:
- Chicken kabsa
- Lamb ouzi
- Daoud basha
- Beef sajiyeh
As part of the celebrations, special Eid desserts will be served onboard.
Passengers can enjoy:
- Date cheesecake
- Pistachio cakes
- Orange cakes with rose flavours
- Walnut desserts
Onboard the iconic Airbus A380, customers will also be treated to:
- Assorted baklawa
- Pistachio maamoul
- Pomegranate cheesecake
- Sesame brownies
- Traditional Arabic coffee and dates in the lounge
Eid Entertainment on ice
The airline’s in-flight entertainment platform, ice, will feature up to 6,500 channels during Eid, including:
- Arabic movies
- Turkish dramas dubbed in Arabic
- MBC Shahid content
- Arabic TV channels
- Music, podcasts and audiobooks
- The Holy Qur’an onboard
Passengers can also watch Arabic films.
The festive experiences will also extend to Emirates lounges in Jeddah and Cairo.
Guests there can enjoy regional Eid favourites, including Lamb Mandi, Kunafa, Basbousa, Baqlawa and date smoothies
As residents prepare to travel during the Eid holidays, the Dubai-based airline is aiming to make the journey itself feel like part of the celebration.
