A hidden gem in Sharjah is back: Here’s what to expect at Al Majarrah Park

Families, art lovers and culture enthusiasts have a new reason to head outdoors this week as Al Majarrah Park officially reopened this Thursday with a free public programme celebrating art, music and community connection ahead of the Eid holidays.

The park was inaugurated on Thursday by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who toured the revamped space alongside senior officials and representatives from.

Located in the heart of Sharjah’s heritage district, the redesigned park has been transformed into a creative community hub where public art, nature and everyday life intersect.

The upgraded space now includes a running track, climbing nets, skating areas, and football and basketball courts, offering a mix of recreational and social spaces designed for different age groups. Open gathering areas have also been incorporated to encourage community events and outdoor activities.

Families with young children will find dedicated areas suited for play and relaxation, while teenagers and young adults can make use of the park’s casual evening hangout spaces and sports facilities.

New green spaces and water features have also been introduced throughout the park, helping create a more open and inviting atmosphere for visitors.

The reopening forms part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s broader commitment to accessible public spaces centred around creativity, culture and community engagement. Al Majarrah Park joins a growing portfolio of public art destinations across the emirate, including and other outdoor installations supported by the Foundation.

Al Majarrah Park will remain open daily from 10am to 10pm.
