Flying from Dubai this Eid? Emirates shares important airport advice
Emirates has issued a travel advisory for passengers flying out of Dubai during the Eid Al Adha holiday period as the airline prepares for a major surge in travellers over the extended break.
With UAE private sector employees expected to receive a seven-day holiday, airports across the country are preparing for one of the busiest travel periods of the season.
Emirates is advising passengers to arrive at Dubai International Airport at least three hours before departure and to be at the boarding gates no later than 60 minutes before flight time.
The airline warned that security checks, immigration procedures and travel times inside the airport may take longer than usual during the Eid rush.
To avoid heavy road congestion around the airport, Emirates also encouraged passengers to use the Dubai Metro where possible.
Emirates shares faster check-in options
The airline highlighted several check-in services aimed at helping travellers move through the airport more smoothly during peak travel days.
Passengers can check in online or through the Emirates mobile app and choose seats before arriving at the airport.
US travellers can also drop off luggage 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours before flights.
Other available options include:
- Self-service check-in and bag drop kiosks
- Emirates Check-in Ports
- Biometric facial recognition for eligible Emirates Skywards members
- Home Check-in services for selected passengers
First Class travel lounge update
Emirates also confirmed that its First Class Lounge at Concourse C is currently undergoing upgrades.
During the renovation period, First Class passengers can instead use the lounge facilities at Concourse B.
The airline additionally reminded customers to update their contact information through the Manage Your Booking section to receive real-time flight updates and travel notifications.
