Abu Dhabi to host Middle East Film & Comic Con until 2027

Abu Dhabi will continue to be home to the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) until 2027, following a partnership extension between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Informa, the event organiser.
The agreement was signed during the Arabian Travel Market 2025 and confirms that the region’s largest pop culture festival will stay in the capital for at least two more editions.
Since moving to Abu Dhabi in 2022, MEFCC has grown into a major attraction, drawing thousands of fans, celebrities, and brands. The 2025 edition welcomed 38,000 visitors and hosted more than 400 international brands, with star guests including Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), Emily Rudd (One Piece), and Hideo Ishikawa (Naruto).
The popular Gaming Arena, held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Gaming, featured tournaments across console, PC, and mobile platforms, plus exclusive demos of unreleased games.
MEFCC features activities covering film, TV, comics, anime, and gaming. Fan-favourite zones include Artist Alley, the Collectors Gallery, the Japanese Village, and the Gaming Zone, where popular titles like Fortnite, FIFA, and NBA2K take centre stage.
Looking ahead, the event is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors annually, supporting Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to welcome 39.3 million visitors and boost the sector’s contribution to the GDP to Dh90 billion by the end of the decade.
