British Royalty in the city! Prince William is coming to Dubai
It’s time to roll out the red carpet because British Royalty is landing in the UAE very soon. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, is making his first official visit to Dubai in February. The programme is set to coincide with the UK National Day celebrations being held at the Expo on February 10, 2022 and the 50th anniversary of the UAE.
The commemorative celebrations of the UK National Day will involve a showcase of the best and brightest talents from across the country, as well as Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay, launched by the Queen from Buckingham Palace in October 2021. The relay will parade through the site and visit all the Commonwealth National Pavilions.
The Prince’s first solo trip to the UAE will see him learning about the country in greater depth and building upon the friendly relations that the two nations share. His passion for wildlife and the natural world is resonant of the vision His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAE’S founding father, had.
He will highlight two Royal Foundation programmes: United for Wildlife and the Earthshot Prize, of which the Expo and DP World are collaborators.
Previously, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited the country in 2010. This was the last official Royal visit.
