Dubai aims to set Guinness World Record with global sign language event
Dubai is set to make history. The Community Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to organise the world’s largest unified virtual sign language class on January 21, as part of the Dubai Communicates in Sign Language initiative.
The virtual event aims to set a new Guinness World Record, while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in empowering People of Determination and integrating sign language into everyday life through smart and digital services.
Building bridges through communication
Beyond the record attempt, the initiative aims to improve access to services for people with hearing disabilities across both government and private sector entities. By encouraging the use of sign language in daily interactions at key facilities, Dubai is strengthening its commitment to delivering inclusive services.
How to register for event
CDA Dubai has invited government and private entities, schools, universities, and individuals from around the world to take part in the historic event.
By joining the unified virtual class, participants will help break the world record while also supporting Emirati Sign Language, promoting accessibility, and standing in solidarity with the hearing-impaired community.
Those interested can register via the Dubai Communicates in Sign Language website, where full participation details are available. Global participation is welcome.
