Dubai Police roll out summer safety drive for tourists

Dubai Police have launched a new summer initiative aimed at promoting tourist safety, enhancing public awareness, and reinforcing the emirate’s reputation as a secure and welcoming destination.
Organised by the Tourist Police Department under the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the campaign is a collaborative effort involving the Positive Spirit Council, General Department of Community Happiness, Crime Prevention Department, Dubai Police Academy, Security Inspection Department (K9), and MST JUNIOR Academy.
The initiative was officially launched at Umm Suqeim Beach, with key officials in attendance, including Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department; Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council; and Captain Ahmed Al Fujeir Al Muhairi, Head of the Beach Security Section, alongside officers, police employees, and volunteers.
Brigadier Al Jallaf emphasised that the initiative reflects Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness among tourists, enhance their sense of safety, and promote the services provided by the Tourist Police Department. He also highlighted the importance of educating the public on using emergency (999) and non-emergency (901) contact numbers to report incidents.
“The campaign aligns with Dubai Police’s strategic vision to ensure public safety, foster a secure environment for visitors, and enhance the overall tourism experience in Dubai,” Al Jallaf said.
As part of the campaign, Dubai Police hosted a series of sporting activities, distributed awareness brochures, and engaged directly with beachgoers. The launch event featured a performance by the Dubai Police band and a K9 police dog show, drawing crowds and highlighting the force’s commitment to proactive community engagement.
