Dubai’s Al Mamzar Beach reopens with night swimming and fitness zones
Dubai residents looking for a fresh beach day out have a new option, as Al Mamzar Beach reopened on May 5 with a major makeover and upgraded facilities.
Following a Dh500 million redevelopment led by Dubai Municipality, the iconic waterfront destination returns with more space, new attractions and a stronger focus on community-friendly experiences.
A bigger, more accessible beach
Spanning 4 million square feet, the revamped destination is designed to handle growing demand from residents and tourists, with capacity expected to increase by 500% and annual visitors projected to reach 7 million.
The expansion introduces a reimagined layout across two key areas:
- Al Mamzar Lagoon – focused on family-friendly leisure and water activities
- Al Mamzar Corniche – offering sports, events and a more curated beach experience
What’s new
The reopening brings several standout features to Dubai’s coastline:
- 24/7 women-only beach with night swimming – a first-of-its-kind concept offering privacy and safety
- Floating walkway at the lagoon – a unique way to explore the waterfront
- 300-metre night swimming zone with lighting and safety measures
- Cycling tracks, jogging paths and fitness zones
- Children’s play areas and water sports zones
- More than 65 investment opportunities, including waterfront dining
