Between the humidity, heat and hard water, keeping curly, coily and kinky hair looking its best in the UAE can feel like a full-time job. And while the internet is overflowing with haircare advice, much of it isn’t designed for life in the Gulf.

Enter the Dubai Curl Festival.

Finally, a festival made for curls

Taking place on Saturday, October 10, the event by Oh My Knots is bringing Dubai’s curly-haired community together for a day of haircare tips, styling demonstrations, product discoveries, wellness sessions and plenty of curl-positive fun.

The event is being billed as the UAE’s first community-led platform dedicated to curly, coily and kinky hair.

And the focus is refreshingly local.

Rather than simply recycling generic curl routines from social media, the festival aims to tackle the very real issues that come with looking after natural hair in the UAE.

Because Dubai haircare is a different game

According to research by Oh My Knots, 69 per cent of its community is actively looking for product recommendations specific to the UAE, while 77 per cent want simpler routines with fewer products.

Translation? Most people don’t necessarily want another 12-step hair routine. They want to know what actually works in Dubai.

Festival-goers can expect experts and brands to share practical advice, alongside live styling demonstrations and talks throughout the day.

How much are Dubai Curl Festival tickets?

Adult tickets start at Dh150, while children aged four to 12 can attend for Dh50.

There’s also an early-bird family pass priced at Dh280, rising to Dh320 later.

The festival will take place at Cornelia’s Craft Kitchen in Al Sufouh 2, Dubai Internet City, from 10am to 6pm on October 10.
