Four Indian and Pakistani expats share Dh510,000 in Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket draw

Four expatriates from India and Pakistan have struck gold in Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket “The Big Win Contest,” taking home a combined Dh510,000 in prize money.

The biggest share went to Aslam Shaikh, a 42-year-old mobile shop owner from Andhra Pradesh, who won Dh150,000. Shaikh, who has lived in Kuwait with his family since 2007, said he only learned about Big Ticket through friends six months ago.

Smiresh Athikkunnu Parambil Kunchan, a 40-year-old from Kerala working in aluminium fabrication in Al Ain, won Dh120,000. He began repurchasing tickets six months ago after a break, this time with a group of 16 friends.

Mohammad Sikandar Hayat, a 55-year-old Pakistani mechanical engineer who has lived in Abu Dhabi for 28 years, won Dh100,000 after two decades of trying his luck.

The fourth winner, Firoz Khan from India, won Dh140,000 with an online ticket.

The August edition of Big Ticket features a Dh15 million grand prize to be announced on September 3, along with six prizes of Dh100,000 each.

Customers who buy two or more cash tickets in a single purchase between August 1 and 25 stand a chance to win guaranteed prizes between Dh50,000 and Dh150,000 in The Big Win Contest. Four participants will be revealed on September 1.
