Heading out with your caravan or jet ski? Dubai just opened a new dedicated parking hub

Planning a desert drive, beach launch or food truck pop-up this weekend? Dubai has made things a whole lot easier for residents and visitors.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened Al Ruwayyah Yard, a new dedicated parking hub designed for caravans, boats (including jet skis), trailers and food vending vehicles, giving outdoor lovers and mobile business owners a cleaner, safer and more organised place to park.

Located in Al Ruwayyah area, the facility is part of Dubai’s wider push to improve urban organisation, support sustainability goals and enhance quality of life, especially for residents who love weekend road trips, watersports and outdoor dining concepts.

What’s inside Al Ruwayyah Yard?

The new yard offers 335 dedicated parking spaces, all built with modern infrastructure and security in mind. Instead of leaving caravans, boats or trailers parked randomly along roadsides or residential areas, owners now have a purpose-built space that keeps Dubai’s streets clear and traffic flowing smoothly.

According to RTA, the project also helps protect road safety, preserve the city’s visual appeal and reduce unregulated parking, a common issue during peak outdoor and winter seasons.

Why it matters for weekend plans

If you’re the type who heads out early with a jet ski, preps a caravan for a desert escape, or runs a mobile food business, this new facility takes away a major hassle. It means:

  • Less stress about parking fines or complaints
  • Easier access to organised, secure storage
  • A more seamless start to weekend adventures

It also helps keep neighbourhoods quieter and less congested, a win for residents and visitors alike.

More locations could be coming

RTA says it’s already studying the expansion of similar yards across other parts of Dubai, making the service more accessible to individuals and companies citywide. The project is being operated in partnership with a specialised private company, supporting Dubai’s public-private collaboration goals and long-term economic growth plans under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).

So, whether you’re gearing up for a beach run, a desert staycation, or a food truck outing, Al Ruwayyah Yard is one more sign that Dubai is making weekend life easier and more organised for everyone
