Hold your horses! A princess and her pal need to be at a fashion show
Yes. You read the headline right.
At Chanel’s Haute Couture Week in Paris, the French fashion house enlisted Charlotte Casiraghi, Prince Albert of Monaco’s niece and a nice horse, to launch its new collection.
A high horse you wouldn’t want to get off
Casiraghi, who is also the granddaughter of Hollywood icon Grace Kelly, was unveiled as a Chanel brand ambassador in 2020, having previously modelled for the likes of Gucci and Saint Laurent. Wearing a sequined Chanel jacket and black helmet, Casiraghi and her very pretty horse, gracefully trotted down the catwalk.
So, why the horse?
In Chanel’s promo, the princess does say that the use of horses was in line with the story of Chanel and its founder, Gabrielle Chanel (an avid fan of horses).
Have a look for yourself.
Springing from the mind of French designer, Xavier Veilhan, the collection is meant to be a celebration of the pure joy of creativity.
Following Casiraghi’s dramatic appearance, the rest of the models filed out in Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection.
