Indian chef’s Japanese joint is Middle East’s hottest rookie

Foodies across the Middle East are waiting with bated breath for the launch of the first MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
While the official list will be released in Abu Dhabi, at a gala on February 7, the winner of the One to Watch Award is on everyone’s lips.
We are obviously talking about one of the crown jewels of UAE’s Japanese scene, Kinoya.

Introducing the Ramen queen of the Middle East

The chef behind Kinoya is Chef Neha Mishra.

While Kinoya is her first restaurant, she had already garnered a cult following for her supper club, A Story of Food.

Following the success of the club, she opened an izakaya-style restaurant at Onyx Tower in The Greens. With its traditional interior, compact menu and buzzing vibe, Kinoya faithfully represents Japanese concept of an izakaya, a casual dining space, where people meet after work to eat, drink and unwind.
While Kinoya’s Wagyu Tsukune skewers, sushi and tempura are tempting, Chef Neha’s ramen is undoubtedly the crown jewel.

William Drew, Director of Content for 50 Best, has labelled her ramen as ‘Nothing short of stunning’.

This ramen is the reason chef Neha’s Kinoya is MENA’s One to Watch, a restaurant that could join the ranks of the 50 best, in a few years.
