Passengers booking Uber and Careem rides from Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 3 can now wait in a dedicated, air-conditioned lounge designed to make airport pickups more comfortable and organised.

Uber and Dubai Airports have launched the new facility directly beside the main Uber and Careem pickup area, giving arriving passengers a climate-controlled space to wait for their vehicles, particularly during Dubai’s hot summer months.

The initiative, supported by the Dubai Civility Committee, is also aimed at reducing curbside congestion and improving passenger flow outside the terminal.

What the new lounge offers

The purpose-built facility is designed for tourists, residents and business travellers, with amenities including:

• Air-conditioned waiting area with air purifiers.
• Comfortable seating with space for luggage.
• Work tables and high chairs for passengers who need to work while waiting.
• USB-C, USB-A and standard power outlets for charging devices.
• A dedicated UberX and Careem Comfort queue to help organise ride dispatch.

The lounge uses clear signage and an organised queue system to guide passengers from the waiting area to their vehicles.

How the pickup process works

Passengers arriving at Terminal 3 can enter the lounge through the designated entrance at the pickup area. Signage inside directs riders to the official UberX and Careem Comfort queue, while instruction boards explain the process for moving from the lounge to the pickup point.

The facility uses PIN-based dispatch to help coordinate rides and improve waiting times.

Officials said the lounge is part of a broader effort to improve the ground-transport experience at DXB, with additional passenger-focused initiatives expected to be introduced in the coming weeks.
