Ramadan 2025: Al Ain organises largest sports event with Dh2.5 million in prizes

A massive Ramadan sporting extravaganza has been organised during the Holy Month. Al Ain is hosting the first-ever “Hafeet Challenge” – a high-energy sports championship bringing together local talent, elite athletes, and community teams for a thrilling two-week showdown.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the tournament was officially announced at a star-studded press conference at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. With top city officials, sports bosses, and media representatives in attendance, the stage is set for one of the biggest sporting events of the season.
The action kicked off on the 5th of Ramadan will run until the 18th, featuring 36 football teams — 24 from local neighbourhoods and 12 representing government and private institutions. But it’s not just football. The tournament will also see adrenaline-pumping competitions in volleyball, basketball, jiu-jitsu, cycling, shooting, padel, PlayStation gaming, and even specialised events for people of determination.
And here’s the catch — over Dh2.5 million is up for grabs, with huge cash prizes and awards for the best performers across all sports. Organisers promise top-tier facilities and a world-class experience, ensuring participants and fans get a sporting spectacle like no other.
