Ramadan 2025: Dubai mosques light up with dazzling illuminations

Dubai has pulled out all the stops this Ramadan, lighting up four of its most iconic mosques with stunning projections that are nothing short of breathtaking.
As part of the brand-new ‘Anwaar Dubai’ project, led by Brand Dubai – the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office – these spectacular illuminations have transformed some of the city’s iconic mosques into glowing masterpieces.
The four mosques getting this high-tech glow-up are:
- Jumeirah Grand Mosque
- Al Khawaneej Mosque (Al Habbai)
- Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Mosque (Al Hudaiba)
- Zabeel Grand Mosque
.
The dazzling light show is a centrepiece of this year’s #RamadanInDubai campaign, launched under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Using cutting-edge lighting technology, the mosques – from the grand domes to towering minarets – have been lit up with intricate designs that celebrate art, culture, and heritage. Even the floors are part of the spectacle, making the whole experience truly immersive
Why all the effort? Well, Ramadan is at the heart of Emirati culture, and this incredible project blends faith, tradition, and high-tech wizardry to create a spiritual and visual feast like no other.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the project is about bringing art, technology, and culture together in a way that makes the city shine—quite literally.
Meanwhile, Mahra Al Youha, from the #RamadanInDubai campaign, said the light projections perfectly blend tradition and innovation, capturing the spirit of the Holy Month while adding a touch of modern magic.
Now in its second year, the Ramadan in Dubai campaign continues to wow residents and visitors alike.
