The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has announced that it has embraced the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionise the monitoring and tracking of its vast fleet of vehicles and drivers. With the implementation of advanced AI technology, DTC has taken significant steps to ensure efficiency and safety throughout its transportation services, including taxis, limousines, school buses, commercial buses and motorcycles.
Ammar Al Braiki, Director of Fleet Operations at the Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: “Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is keen to showcase the efforts of the Control Centre and educate the public and road users about the role of DTC in benefiting from the new technologies and smart systems in monitoring and tracking 7,200 vehicles. The control centre monitors and tracks the performance of 14,500 drivers. The centre assists senior management in making swift and efficient decisions besides offering a comprehensive calendar of events happening in Dubai, ensuring the taxi fleet is deployed according to demand and the available vehicles are re-directed to high-demand areas.”
The AI-powered Control Centre now ensures that the behaviour of the drivers is also monitored meticulously. This includes compliance with guidelines for monitoring a wide variety of vehicles, from 400 limousines to 1,000 commercial buses and 600 delivery motorbikes. The system also closely tracks the routes taken by these vehicles, thereby guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of transport operations.
