Sharjah limits Desert Police Park weekend access to government employees only

Sharjah’s Desert Police Park has announced a temporary change to its entry policy, limiting weekend access to government employees in the emirate and their families.

In an announcement issued on Wednesday, December 24, the Sharjah Police stated that the decision was made due to the increasing turnout at the park. As a result, Fridays and Saturdays will be reserved exclusively for public sector employees and their families.

The park will remain open to the general public from Monday to Thursday until the end of the event on January 5, 2026.

Sharjah Police confirmed the update through an Instagram post, noting that the move is aimed at better crowd management during peak days. Civilians planning to visit the park over the weekend have been advised to adjust their plans accordingly.

Established in 1995 as a conservation centre for the region’s endangered plants and animals, Sharjah Desert Park spans an impressive 63,000 square metres and has grown into a popular family-friendly attraction.

Today, the park blends education with entertainment, offering visitors a fun and interactive way to learn about wildlife native to the region. Highlights include a beautifully maintained botanical garden, a petting farm, and a history museum that explores the natural heritage of the area.

Designed for visitors of all ages, Sharjah Desert Park is an ideal destination for families, nature lovers and curious minds looking to discover the rich biodiversity of the Arabian Peninsula in an engaging setting.

Now in its sixth edition, the annual Desert Police Park is being held in the Al Kaheef area of Al Bataah in Sharjah. The attraction features a heritage village, entertainment zone, restaurant corner and a designated barbecue area, offering a range of activities for families and visitors.

The revised entry rule will remain in place until the event concludes in early January.
