UAE-India travel: Flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi hit by adverse weather as passengers face delays
Flight operations to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi were disrupted on Tuesday after IndiGo announced that adverse weather conditions in the UAE had impacted services.
The airline cautioned passengers about potential delays and extended wait times as ground teams work to manage the disruptions.
In a statement posted on X, IndiGo said: “Due to adverse weather conditions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, flight operations may be impacted. We understand that extended wait times, both on the ground and onboard, may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience.
Our crew and ground teams are there to support you and ensure your wait is as comfortable as possible.
We value your time and are doing everything we can to help you get on your way as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued understanding.”
Fog, haze and reduced visibility
Weather conditions across Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been fluctuating, with haze, humidity and early-morning fog affecting visibility.
At Dubai International Airport, meteorological data showed visibility dropping to just 1.4 kilometres due to heavy fog, accompanied by 100 per cent humidity and a low cloud ceiling, conditions considered challenging for flight departures and arrivals.
While daytime temperatures in Dubai were forecast to reach 31°C under hazy sunshine, shifting humidity and dust levels have contributed to reduced visibility, particularly during early morning hours. Abu Dhabi recorded similar warm conditions, with highs near 32°C.
Advisory to travellers
IndiGo has advised passengers travelling to or from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to check their flight status through official digital channels before heading to the airport.
The airline noted that passengers may experience longer-than-usual waiting times both at the airport and onboard aircraft as crews coordinate departures amid unpredictable weather conditions.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation, with weather patterns expected to stabilise as temperatures rise later in the day.
