UAE residents invited to celebrate health and harmony at mega International Yoga Day event in Sharjah

In a celebration of health, mindfulness and community spirit, the Indian Consulate in Dubai will host a large-scale event to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) at Expo Centre Sharjah on Friday, June 21.
Announced by Consul General Satish Kumar Sivan during a curtain-raiser at the consulate, the event invites all UAE residents, regardless of nationality, to unite in the pursuit of holistic well-being.
Organised in collaboration with yoga groups and wellness organisations, the event will feature guided mass yoga sessions, chair yoga, and a cultural showcase, all focused on promoting the mental, physical, and emotional benefits of yoga.
Over 5,000 participants expected
Last year’s event saw nearly 6,000 participants in Dubai, with many joining spontaneously. This year, the consulate expects more than 5,000 attendees at the Sharjah venue.
How to join the session
A dedicated website has been launched, and registration using Emirates ID or passport is mandatory for all participants.
Participants are encouraged to bring their yoga mats, although a limited number will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
