One of the richest men in the world, Bill Gates, will be on the speaker panel for the UN’s Global Goals Week at Expo 2020 Dubai. This is the first time the event will be held outside the UN General Assembly in New York. 

Gates will attend remotely and joined by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed at the event, set to kick off on Saturday, January 15.

Annually, government leaders, activists and academics congregate to discuss the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. 

As many as 192 countries have a presence at the Expo, said Commissioner General of the UN at Expo 2020, Maher Nasser.

“That’s why we are pushing with the Global Goals Week in New York and here,” he added.
