British Airways cuts dubai services, suspends some Middle East routes

Travellers planning a summer getaway to Dubai may want to double-check their flight plans after British Airways announced major schedule adjustments across the Middle East for summer 2026.

The airline has reduced services on several regional routes, including flights between London and Dubai, as part of what it describes as ongoing operational and regional planning changes.

One of the biggest changes affects the popular London–Dubai route.

British Airways has temporarily reduced flights from:

  • Three daily services to one daily flight until August 1
  • A second daily service will return from October 16

Other Middle East destinations are also seeing reductions:

  • Doha — reduced from twice daily to once daily
  • Riyadh — reduced from twice daily to once daily
  • Bahrain and Amman — flights paused until the end of summer

Meanwhile, flights to Jeddah will be permanently discontinued as of April 2026 following an operational review.

The airline says most of the reductions are temporary and intended to create more stability for travellers during a period of ongoing regional uncertainty and operational adjustments.

Despite the scaled-back schedule, British Airways says it is continuing to support affected passengers through alternative flight arrangements, relief services, and additional capacity on selected long-haul routes

Thousands of passengers have already been assisted with revised travel plans and return journeys.

For passengers travelling between the UAE and the UK this summer, the changes could mean:

  • Fewer flight options
  • Longer waiting times between departures
  • Possible rerouted journeys during peak travel periods

With demand expected to surge around the summer holidays and Eid Al Adha travel, experts recommend booking early and monitoring airline updates closely.
