The door to the “Magic Shop” has opened once again as BTS and its global fanbase, known as ARMY, celebrate the South Korean group’s 13th anniversary on 13 June.

The seven-member band, widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential pop acts, is currently on a global tour in support of its latest album, Arirang. Since launching the tour in April, BTS has performed to sold-out crowds across Asia, Europe and North America, with tickets reportedly selling out within hours.

To commemorate the milestone, the group is staging a special concert in Busan, the South Korean city where it held its final performance before members began their mandatory military service in 2022.

While many fans have travelled to South Korea for the event, BTS supporters in the UAE are organising a range of celebrations closer to home.

Last weekend, fans gathered for a “Purple Run”, a 3km community event organised by Dubai resident Riza Antigo. Participants received commemorative medals, T-shirts and other BTS-themed merchandise, before taking part in a series of fan activities.

Concert Screenings at Vox Cinemas

Select Vox Cinemas locations across the UAE will broadcast the Busan concert, allowing fans to watch the performance on the big screen. Tickets are available through Vox Cinemas.

Bangtan UAE Screening Event

Bangtan UAE, one of the country’s largest BTS fan communities, is hosting a screening event at City Centre Deira. Attendees are being encouraged to wear BTS-inspired outfits as part of the celebration.

Screening and Fan Gathering in Dubai

BunjarciShop UAE is organising a fan event at the Asiana Hotel in Dubai. The gathering includes a concert screening, buffet meal, games, raffles and commemorative giveaways. Participation is priced at Dh150.

Fan Activities at The Galleria, Abu Dhabi

Fans attending the concert screening at The Galleria will also be able to take part in a separate community-led event outside Cinema 13. Organisers plan to distribute free merchandise and host interactive activities, including collectible stamp stations.

Participation requires only a valid ticket for the concert screening.

AUH ARMYRANG Event

Another fan-organised gathering, AUH ARMYRANG, will take place at Vox Cinemas, Abu Dhabi Mall. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple, black or red, reflecting the band’s signature colours and the theme of its latest album.

The event will feature fan activities and giveaways at no additional cost beyond the cinema ticket.

As BTS marks 13 years since its debut, celebrations in the UAE reflect the enduring popularity of the group and the strength of its fan community far beyond South Korea.
