Dubai Opera to host powerful UAE tribute concert this Friday
The UAE National Orchestra is set to return to Dubai Opera this month with Sing for the Nation, a live musical tribute celebrating the UAE’s story, identity and shared cultural heritage.
Taking place on Friday, May 8 at 8pm, the concert invites audiences into a nostalgic and immersive experience, featuring iconic Emirati songs spanning from the 1970s to the present day.
A soundtrack of the nation
The programme brings together melodies that have shaped generations, including:
- Dar Zayed, evoking a deep sense of home and heritage
- We Will Protect the Union, reflecting unity and national pride
- Zanaha Zayed, capturing the UAE’s transformation and vision
The evening will also feature powerful works tied to the country’s leadership, including:
- Rijal Wallah Rijal, written by Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- Hisn Al Watan, penned by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Blending orchestral performance with audience participation, the event is designed as a shared cultural moment, where attendees are encouraged to sing along and connect through music. With works by leading Emirati poets and composers, the performance celebrates both the past and present of the nation.
