Flydubai opens door to Nepal’s adventure capital
Dubai-based carrier flydubai is set to deepen its footprint in South Asia with the launch of a daily direct service to Pokhara, marking the airline’s second destination in Nepal.
From 23 September 2026, flights will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, in partnership with a codeshare agreement with Emirates, strengthening connectivity between the UAE and the Himalayan nation.
The move makes flydubai the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights to Pokhara, a gateway city known for its lakeside views and status as Nepal’s adventure tourism hub. The airline said the expansion reflects its long-term commitment to Nepal, where it has been operating since 2009 and has carried around four million passengers to date.
Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said the new route underlined efforts to support “free flows of trade and tourism” between the two countries.
The airline has also expanded capacity on its Nepal network, with up to five daily flights to Kathmandu during peak travel periods, signalling growing demand on the route.
Sudhir Sreedharan, flydubai’s senior commercial executive, said the addition of Pokhara would offer passengers “more flexibility and choice” across its network.
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Pokhara start at around $1,361 (AED 5,000), while Economy Lite tickets begin at $517 (AED 1,900).
Bookings are now open through the airline’s website and travel partners.
