Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has finally addressed the buzz surrounding her alleged conversion to Islam after tying the knot with long-time beau Zaheer Iqbal.

The lovebirds, who kept their seven-year romance under wraps, opted for a low-key civil wedding at Sonakshi’s home in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 23, 2024, sealing the deal under the Special Marriage Act — no religious customs, no fuss.

Shutting down the speculation, Sonakshi declared in a chat: “We weren’t looking at religion. We’re two people in love who wanted to get married — so we did.” 

She made it crystal clear that neither she nor Zaheer forced their faith on the other, emphasising mutual respect and understanding as the secret to their rock-solid relationship.

But the hush-hush wedding didn’t mean a lack of Bollywood glam — a star-studded reception followed with A-listers Salman Khan, Kajol, and Rekha making an appearance.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonakshi is set to storm Telugu cinema with her debut in the supernatural fantasy thriller “Jatadhara”, directed by Venkat Kalyan and starring Sudheer Babu. Insiders say this could be a game-changer for her career!
