Tech lovers, rejoice: Dubai is getting its first-ever Electronics Festival
Dubai will launch its first dedicated Electronics Festival in April 2027, adding another major shopping event to the emirate’s growing retail calendar.
The announcement was made by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) during the Dubai Promotions Impact forum, where officials also unveiled the city’s promotional roadmap for 2026-27.
New electronics festival
The 10-day festival was developed following industry calls for a dedicated consumer electronics event similar to the former GITEX Shopper.
DET said the festival is part of its strategy to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global shopping and tourism destination while supporting retailers through year-round promotional campaigns.
More than 80 annual events
Dubai’s events calendar has expanded significantly over the past decade, growing from 12 events to more than 80 annually.
Flagship campaigns include:
- Dubai Summer Surprises
- Great Dubai Summer Sale
- Back-to-School promotions
- Dubai Shopping Festival
- Win Your Home in Dubai
DET said these events are designed to boost visitor spending across retail, hospitality, restaurants and attractions.
New retail festival in 2026
During the forum, IBPC Dubai also announced the launch of its inaugural IBPC Retail Festival, scheduled for October 1, 2026, bringing together retailers, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss the future of retail in the UAE.
