The Dubai Fountain returns on October 1: Show timings, upgrades, and what’s next

After a five-month pause, one of Dubai’s most beloved attractions is ready to dazzle again. The Dubai Fountain reopens on October 1, reclaiming its place as the shimmering heart of Downtown Dubai.

Famed as the world’s largest choreographed fountain, the landmark is set to resume its breathtaking displays of water, light, and music, a spectacle that has drawn millions of visitors since its debut in 2009.

Renovation completed ahead of schedule

The reopening follows the completion of the first phase of a major renovation project. Carried out ahead of schedule, the works focused on crucial upgrades, including tiling, water insulation, and painting, to enhance the fountain’s performance and preserve its signature beauty.

What’s coming next in 2026

The second phase of the project is already underway and is expected to finish by mid-2026. It promises new, tech-driven features designed to reimagine the experience, blending innovation with artistic creativity to bring fresh moments of awe for visitors from around the world.

‘A celebration of Dubai’s spirit’

Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, called the reopening a milestone. “The return of the Dubai Fountain is a celebration of Dubai itself — its spirit, its energy, and its ability to inspire the world,” he said.

He added that the fountain has always been a gathering place where people create shared memories, embodying Dubai’s values of innovation, ambition, and unforgettable experiences.

Show timings

Visitors can look forward to the fountain’s regular schedule:

  • Afternoon shows: 1pm and 1.30pm daily; on Fridays at 2pm and 2.30pm
  • Evening shows: every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm

With its refreshed look and exciting plans for the future, the Dubai Fountain is poised to illuminate the Burj Khalifa Lake once more, promising unforgettable moments for both residents and visitors.
