Whether you’re a hardcore yoga follower or simply looking for a peaceful way to start your Sunday, the UAE is set to mark International Yoga Day 2026 with two large-scale community events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Organised by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai, this year’s celebrations will take place on June 21 under the global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

Sunrise yoga in Dubai

Early risers can roll out their mats at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club, where a special community yoga session will take place from 5.30am to 6.30am.

The event is being organised in partnership with Dubai Police’s Positive Spirit Council. It is expected to attract members of the Indian community, students, diplomats, police officers and wellness enthusiasts from across the city.

Participants will be guided through a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques designed to promote physical and mental well-being while providing a calm start to the day.

Practice asanas at Louvre Abu Dhabi

In the capital, yoga lovers can enjoy a truly unique setting beneath the striking dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The one-hour session will run from 8am to 9am and will offer residents the opportunity to combine mindfulness, movement, and one of the UAE’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

Registration is required for the Abu Dhabi event and interested participants are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance.

The 2026 theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ shines a spotlight on the growing role yoga plays in supporting long-term health and wellness.

From improving flexibility and balance to helping manage stress and boosting overall well-being, yoga continues to gain recognition worldwide as an accessible practice for people of all ages.

Since being officially recognised by the UN in 2014, International Day of Yoga has grown into a global movement, bringing millions of people together each year through a shared focus on health, mindfulness and wellness.
