Dubai gets new outlet for luxury supercars on SZR
If you are driving down the busy arterial route in Dubai that is the Sheikh Zayed Road, chances are high that every minute you will spot a super luxury or high-end car such as a McLaren, Ferrari, Maseratti or Lamborghini.
That is understandable too, given the wide roads with uninterrupted tarmac, quality infrastructure to boot, a high quality of lifestyle and many more reasons to flaunt. Heck, when a motorist does get carried away even the Dubai police has a few supercars in their hangars. Aston Martin, Bugati and some of the aforementioned names line up on the side of the law enforcement agencies too.
And now such supercars have another address on the Sheikh Zayed Road to park and line up for all those seeking a fancy pair of wheels. Oscar Luxury Cars showroom opened in Umm Al Sheif (opposite Mall of Emirates) to a grand ceremony on Friday evening. The inauguration was done by Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.
Sarabdeep Singh Bassi, pictured in black, and his co-managing partner Walid Al Balushi are the people behind the opening of Oscar Luxury Cars showroom, and bring years of experience in the automobile industry behind them.
Ever since coming from the US, where again he was associated with the truck side of the automobile industry, to the UAE in 2005, Bassi has established his car trading business in all three emirates of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi with a different name. And now the partners are venturing into luxury cars.
“We are buying and selling all luxury brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Range Rover, Rolls Royce, Mercedes, BMW’s and others,” Bassi said at the launch ceremony, packed with enthusiasts, family and friends.
“After Covid, demands is peaking for such cars and because we have an extensive network and experience, we even have cars which are rarely found in the market,” Bassi added.
The large showroom spans more than 7,000 square feet and a separate parking in the basement where all the signature collection headed after the ribbon was cut to mark the opening of the venture. We spotted a stylish black-and-white McLaren 720z as well as a grey one, a black Lamborhini, the classic red Ferrari, and grey Maseratti and Bentleys paraded outside. Inside the Mercedes G-Class and the latest Landrovers filled up the corners of the showroom. There was a purple Ferrari as well which gleamed through the night lights.
Just as in real estate, the demand is due to the intrinsic interest from the UAE nationals and the incoming nationalities from the former Soviet region.
“Yes, there are not just Russians but the other eastern European and Soviet region nationalities who are moving to Dubai and would like a car befitting their profiles,” says Balushi. “We offer brand-new cars & used cars at the best price in the market. From loans to helping out with VIP number plates we do it all. We are also promoting electric vehicles sale which are environment friendly,” he said.
