Dubai travel update: British Airways postpones relaunch, permanently cancels Jeddah route
Travellers heading to the Middle East with British Airways may face longer-than-expected disruptions after the airline announced further delays to the return of several regional routes, including services to Dubai.
The UK-based carrier has postponed the restart of flights to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Bahrain and Amman, extending the suspension of all four destinations until October 25. The routes had previously been scheduled to resume operations from July 1.
The move forms part of a broader adjustment to British Airways’ Middle East network as the airline continues to review capacity and operational requirements across the region.
In addition to the delayed route resumptions, the airline has confirmed reductions to services on other key Gulf routes. Flights between London and Doha will be reduced from two daily departures to one daily service starting August 1.
Riyadh will also see a decrease in frequency, with British Airways scaling back from twice-daily operations to a single daily flight from August 8.
Meanwhile, the airline has permanently withdrawn its Jeddah route, marking a significant change to its Saudi Arabia network.
Passengers with existing bookings are encouraged to review their travel plans and check directly with British Airways for the latest flight updates, rebooking arrangements and refund eligibility.
