Flying out of DXB? These 5 destinations are easiest to book now
Air travel through Dubai is set to pick up pace again, as Dubai Airports begins scaling up operations following the full reopening of UAE airspace.
After several weeks of regional disruption that affected flight paths and schedules, Dubai International Airport (DXB) is now entering a recovery phase, with more flights being added and airline schedules gradually restored.
Despite the challenges, DXB remained operational throughout, handling around 6 million passengers, over 32,000 flights, and 213,000 tonnes of cargo between late February and the end of April.
Airlines, including Emirates and flydubai, played a key role in maintaining connectivity, even as airspace capacity across the region remained limited. With 96% of its network restored, Emirates is operating over 1,300 weekly flights, while flydubai continues to support key routes as travel demand rebounds.
More options for travellers
For UAE residents and expats, the easing of restrictions means more flight options, smoother connections, and fewer delays in the coming weeks as airlines rebuild their schedules. However, some regional routing constraints remain, meaning fares and timings may continue to fluctuate in the short term.
Top 5 routes from DXB right now
Based on passenger traffic, these routes are among the busiest and likely to see faster recovery and more frequent flights from Dubai International Airport:
- London – A key long-haul hub for business and leisure travel
- Mumbai – High demand driven by expat and family travel
- Jeddah – Strong regional and religious travel flows
- Riyadh – Busy corporate and government travel route
- Karachi – Popular with expats and frequent flyers
Strong demand expected to return
According to Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths, the airport’s ability to adapt quickly has helped maintain global travel flows during a critical period. As conditions stabilise, this demand is expected to rebound quickly, supporting a strong recovery in the months ahead.
Looking ahead, Dubai is continuing to invest in its aviation future, with expansion plans at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) supporting long-term growth as a global travel hub.
