Sharjah Public Libraries is turning May into a month-long celebration of creativity, learning and community connection, with a packed calendar of workshops, cultural discussions and family-friendly activities taking place across the emirate.

Designed for all age groups, the programme blends everything from science and robotics workshops for children to heritage talks, book signings and awareness sessions focused on safety, leadership and personal development.

One of the highlights includes My Exciting Adventures in Sharjah, a book signing session with author Suad Al Tarban at Dibba Al Hisn Library on May 17, offering visitors a closer look at Sharjah’s cultural and heritage landmarks.

Meanwhile, young visitors can dive into interactive experiences like Adventurers at the Museum at Sharjah Archaeology Museum, where children will explore ancient civilisations through games, storytelling and guided tours.

Technology and innovation also feature heavily throughout the programme. Workshops such as Colours and Software and STEM Little Explorers introduce children to programming, robotics, artificial intelligence and creative problem-solving through hands-on activities.

Road safety, crisis management

Community-focused discussions are also part of the line-up, including sessions on road safety, crisis management and neighbourhood stability organised in collaboration with Sharjah Police and the University of Kalba.

Music and literature lovers can also look forward to Harmony of Peace, Stories and Music that Unite Us, an evening combining poetry, storytelling and live music celebrating tolerance and coexistence.

The initiative reflects Sharjah Public Libraries’ growing role as more than just a place for books, evolving into an open community space that encourages creativity, dialogue and lifelong learning across generations.
