Hijri New Year: Toll Fees, Parking Timings Announced in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi authorities have announced a temporary suspension of toll and parking fees across the emirate in line with the Hijri New Year holiday, offering motorists a brief reprieve during the expected travel rush.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Abu Dhabi’s smart mobility company Q Mobility confirmed that four main toll gates will be free of charge on Monday, June 15. These include Sas Al Nakhl, Al Maqta’, Rabdan and Al Saadiyat, with normal charges set to resume on Tuesday, June 16.
However, Al Qurm and Ghantout toll gates will remain operational 24 hours a day throughout the period.
Public parking across Abu Dhabi will also be free on June 15, before fees are reinstated the following day. Multi-storey car parks will continue to charge as usual. The measures are expected to ease traffic flow as residents travel during the holiday period, traditionally one of the busiest times on the roads.
Separately, Customer Happiness Centres, including drivers’ and vehicle licensing facilities in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, will be closed on June 15, reopening on June 16.
Q Mobility added that all digital services will remain available around the clock via its website, the Darb app, and the TAMM platform.
