Dubai’s Museum of the Future is preparing for its biggest transformation since opening its doors in 2022.

The landmark attraction will temporarily close in mid-September 2026 to make way for a complete refresh of its exhibitions, with an all-new lineup of immersive experiences set to debut when it reopens in the first quarter of 2027.

Why is the Museum of the Future closing?

Unlike traditional museums with permanent collections, the Museum of the Future regularly updates its galleries to showcase the latest ideas in technology, science and innovation.

This marks the museum’s most extensive exhibition overhaul since it welcomed its first visitors in February 2022. Existing galleries will be replaced with brand-new interactive experiences inspired by emerging technologies and ideas submitted by people from around the world.

Last chance to visit

Visitors will have until mid-September 2026 to explore the current exhibitions, which focus on themes including artificial intelligence, space exploration, sustainability, climate and the future of healthcare.

After that, the museum will close to begin its large-scale refurbishment.

When will it reopen?

The Museum of the Future is expected to reopen in the first quarter of 2027, coinciding with its fifth anniversary.
