In a fortunate stroke of luck, the rain clouds over Dubai have beat a hasty retreat and the sun is back out.

From the looks of things, everyone is making their way to the center of Dubai to witness the fireworks. From the metros to downtown, crowds have started flocking in anticipation of the NYE fireworks at the Burj Khalifa.

Across the UAE, residents are bracing themselves against heavier rain as you can see below.
As usual, areas in Sharjah like the Maleiha Kalba Road have started flooding. In order to alleviate the traffic and ensure that blocks do not occur, tankers are also present to drain the rain away.

2021 has sprung a final surprise on us. While it has been drizzling for the past few days, it finally looks like an Indian Monsoon across Dubai and Sharjah. However, reporters on the field are saying that instead of dampening spirits, this rain is actually amplifying the mood for New Year’s Eve.
