Region’s biggest fruit and vegetable market opens in Dubai

Dubai residents can now shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at a brand new indoor market inaugurated by Dubai Municipality (DM).
Spread over an area of over 66,000 square metres, Bloom Bazaar is one of the largest indoor markets in the region and is located in the Dubai Fruit and Vegetable Market in Al Aweer. The two-storey indoor facility is equipped with modern logistical services, storage facilities, display equipment, and three restaurants. It has 400 parking spaces in the basement and a vast area for trucks to unload fresh produce straight into the market.
In addition to imported items, it will also bring fresh produce from local farms to consumers.
“This market will complement the existing fruit and vegetable market,” he added. “It will not compete with the existing market and vendors. The uniqueness of this marketplace is that it will serve both business-to-consumer and business-to-business customers.”
He further added that the prices in the market are extremely competitive as compared to retail locations. “When you come here, unlike retail supermarkets you get better rates because you are buying directly from the source,” he said. “The price will be more competitive.”
He also said that the prices of Bloom Bazaar will be comparable to the outdoor market of Al Aweer. “We have asked traders to keep their prices at par with the outside market to attract more customers,” he added.
