UAE fuel prices to increase in August 2023

The UAE fuel price committee on Monday announced petrol and diesel prices for the month of August 2023. The new prices have witnessed a slight hike compared to the previous month. Global oil prices have been on the rise in the past few weeks after the oil-producing countries announced a cut in production by more than 1.6 million barrels a day through the end of the year.

Super 98 petrol will cost Dhs3.14 a litre, compared to Dhs3 a litre in July, with an increase of 14 fils, while Special 95 will cost Dh3.02 a litre, compared to Dh2.89 a litre in July, with an increase of 13 fils. E-Plus petrol will cost Dh2.95 a litre, compared to Dh2.81 a litre in July, with an increase of 14 fils. Diesel will now cost Dh2.95 a litre, compared to Dh2.76 a litre in July with an increase of 19 fils. Crude prices rose in the past five straight weeks, surpassing $80 a barrel. The WTI ended the week at $80.58 and Brent at $84.99 a barrel, gaining around $10 in the past month.Since the deregulation of retail petrol prices in August 2015, the UAE revises petrol and diesel prices on the last day of each month to be aligned with global rates.
