UAE travel alert: Major airlines suspend Dubai flights amid regional tensions

Travellers flying from the UAE are facing continued disruption, with several airlines cancelling or suspending services as regional security tensions put pressure on Gulf aviation.

Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia and flydubai continue to operate selected regional flights, but cancellations and delays are affecting some routes. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is also reporting delays.

The latest disruption follows the UAE’s announcement that its air defence systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran on Tuesday. The Ministry of Defence said assessments indicated the missiles were targeting maritime navigation.

Airlines are continuing to review their schedules, so passengers should check their flight status before travelling to the airport.

Latest flight status:

What travellers should do

If you are flying from the UAE, airlines are advising passengers to:

  • Check flight status before leaving for the airport.
  • Arrive at least three hours before departure, or earlier if instructed by the airline.
  • Allow at least four hours when flying flydubai from Dubai.
  • Leave extra time for traffic, check-in, security and immigration.
  • Complete online check-in where available.
  • Keep your contact details updated to receive airline notifications.
  • Be prepared for last-minute cancellations, delays or schedule changes.
  • Check official airline and airport advisories before travelling.

Travellers must note that flight schedules remain fluid. A flight showing as scheduled can still be changed or cancelled, so passengers should check directly with their airline shortly before travelling.
